My Experience As A Calendar Model
This was one of the strangest experiences I have had, as well as one I never would have expected. Now before I mislead anyone into thinking I am some gorgeous individual or that I got this opportunity off of my looks, I mostly did not.
The calendar that I modeled for was the Pearl River Community College GED Success Calendar. This calendar acted as a sort of fund raiser for the GED program, as they are quite possibly the least funded program available at Pearl River Community College.
To qualify for the calendar, you must have completed the GED program at Pearl River Community College and have gone on to become a notable student and/or have gone on to make a significant difference in your community. Now this seems pretty significant. There are approximately 185 GED graduates from the Pearl River program a year, and you can be selected for this honor at anytime. Therefore, you may be competing with something like 4,000 other students at any given time for this honor. Although, you do not know that you are competing for it, they choose you. So out of approximately 4,000 viable candidates at any given moment, eleven are chosen for that year’s calendar. “Why eleven?” you may ask, well the month of May is comprised of pictures of the previous year’s graduating class.
